A growing list of ethical Australian labels that cater to beyond a size 16
Pieces for a range of bodies.
There are a growing number of Australians who are becoming more conscious shoppers and prioritising ethically-made and sustainable fashion. But what happens when the industry doesn’t serve you? There’s nothing groundbreaking in proclaiming that fashion has a serious problem with fatphobia and size-inclusivity. We know that op-shopping is made infinitely harder and navigating standardised sizing can often be a nightmare.
With the average Australian woman fitting into a size 14 to 16 and the plus-size clothing industry worth $1 billion in Australia, it’s shameful (and bad business) that plus-size people have largely been rendered invisible.
For more style suggestions, head to our Fashion category.
This list features brands that, at a minimum, cater to beyond a size 16, but we acknowledge that this is not a full and accurate representation of the spectrum of bodies in our midst. This selection of labels is a starting point, and it serves as a reminder that size does not dictate style. We’re proud to share this extensive collection of clothing, intimates and activewear brands and hope you can find something you love.

Her delicious selection of clothing is handmade by herself in Queensland and caters up to a size 30.
Size range: XS and 3XL
